Overview
Block reinforcement helps walls resist wind, withstand material loads against the wall, control shrinkage, thermal and settlement effects, and span openings. It is made to customer specifications so its strength is used efficiently.
Ladder mesh is supplied in continuous lengths and embedded in the horizontal mortar joints. The cross rods are spaced so block cells stay clear, allowing easy placement of vertical rebars.
ApplicationHorizontal mortar joints, especially where vertical rebars are placed in block cells.
- Greatly reduces cracking from thermal stresses, which improves resistance to water penetration.
- Increases lateral flexural strength.
- Bonds exterior and interior wythes in composite or cavity walls, and masonry at intersecting walls and corners.
- Improves the performance of masonry walls under various stresses.
- Galvanised for internal use, stainless steel for external use.
