Overview
Strip lath is a flat, closed-diamond expanded metal strip with smooth edges, formed in 4", 6" and 8" widths. It reinforces plaster over joints in non-metallic lathing and where dissimilar bases meet.
It is commonly fixed diagonally at the corners of doors, windows and other crack-prone areas. It can also span pipe chases or reinforce other stress points, such as the corners of openings. For spray fireproofing systems, strip lath provides pre-cut widths that install easily as mechanical breaks on painted steel.
